Like most of us we are focused and set to reach our fitness goals. We train everyday and eat our meals and nothing is stopping us in our mission to get to where wee need to go. So many nights meal prep and so many reps in the gym and we are not going to let anything get in the way.
Like most of us there are days in the year that makes our fitness mission really difficult and these are days that we just can not skip and you should not skip. These are days like birthdays, Christmas and new years. When it comes to these days there are always everything but training and eating right. Most of the close friends and family that share these days with you will always try to make it special and fun for you and those sharing this day. If it's your birthday all the attention is on you and most of the time you don't want to offend those trying to make it special.
On days like these you and your loved one's enjoy and spend time together and it only comes once a year. For some of us this is the only quality time we really spend together and you should really take this to heart. We are so focused on our fitness, studies and work that we actually need to have days like these that just stops you for a moment and let you see what and who you have in your life and it's definitely not something money can buy.
If you are dedicated and focused throughout the year with your goals in mind those few days a year will do you more good than bad. Especially when it comes to dieting a rest days where you eat everything that is not on your diet is sometimes just what your body needs. If you want you can see this as a chest day and believe me when I say... a cheat meal at the right time is worth gold. I will definitely do a full post on why a cheat meal is so important.
The biggest benefit of having days like these is the positive phycological effects this will have on you. Just being in a different environment with people you love makes you appreciate the time with them and the time spent with them makes one motivated again in achieving the life and fitness goals you have set out.
I can definitely speak out of experience that you should not let these days go by and you have not made the best of it. There will always be time for setting after your goals and there will always be time to spend with those people that you need in your life. It's all about balance and dividing your time to the right areas of your life.
At the end of the day achievements are important and part of any driven person's life but with who are you going to share these achievements if you don't make the time for your love one's??
